England China Business Forum, together with China West Midlands (an initiative of the Chinese Community Centre – Birmingham), invite you to a celebration of the Year of the Ox.
2020 has been a difficult year for all of us and we hope that the Year of the Ox will be better. Join us for a serious and fun celebration of the importance of the relationship between China and the UK.
As well as the speaker panel, the event will include breakout rooms for networking and discussions, Q&A, video clips of cultural activities and a fun quiz.
To help us look ahead at how trade and investment relationships may develop with China in 2021 we have a panel of 3 speakers:
- Liam Byrne, Member of Parliament and candidate for Mayor for the West Midlands, chairs the Global Parliamentary Network of the IMF & World Bank. He is one of Westminster’s leading authorities on China and co-founded the UK-China Young Leader’s Roundtable, and author of the book Turning to Face the East: How Britain Prospers in the Asian Century.
- Jinny Yan, Chief China Economist at ICBC Standard Bank leads the China markets strategy and research team. She delivers China macroeconomic and market insights and her team launched the Belt and Road Economic Indices, which offers unique insight into China’s increasing connectivity with other emerging economies. She is also an expert on China-Africa relations.
