Blue Orange Arts present a workshop presentation of: The Chinese Labour Corps.
Written by Ian Henery
Directed by Marcus Fernando
They came to help. They stayed to die. One of the least known stories of the First World War. The moving and surprising story of the Chinese Labour Corps, who volunteered to travel thousands of miles to help in a war they knew little about. Loyalty, colonialism and romance combine in this new play based on true events.
We are presenting the Chinese Labour Corps as a workshop presentation. We are working with a group of actors for a week in order to develop the script. We are inviting people to view the presentation and help us by providing honest feedback (criticism is very welcome). We are looking to develop the play (when restrictions allow) into a full production and then tour.
